Today is day of MALVIN in Hungary.
This name comes from German means something like: friend of the justice
Theme Day within the DP family. The topic is: Taxi. I took this photo couple of weeks ago when i came home with taxi after a hard day. Usually I use this company.......Főtaxi (means: main-taxi). The text on the door is their slogen. "Meglepetések helyett (Instead of surprises)". And yes..at times when you choose the wrong type taxi in Budapest...you might be surprised after getting the bill!

Excellent shot. Could be a little like a NYC taxi no?
I like the slogan. When using a taxi service no surprises is a very admirable trait. The shadows in the photo are interesting as well.
Looks like yellow is a very standard taxi color.
Greetings from Chile
Thanks for the translation! Join the legion of yellow taxis!!
I think taxi bills are surprising all the world round! That's why I never use them! Thanks, funny writing!
:P

When we use a taxi what we reallky want is arrive safe to our destination. No surprises, good slogan.
Greetings from Perú
Really like that slogan! I think a few other cities would do well to borrow it.
No surprises in the London Black cab - the bill will be one the highest in the world.
i havent had many opportunities to ride a cab. My first was 3 years ago during my first visit to Hungary and there's snow storm. The 2nd time was due to weather as well! glad to say we had no bad experience :)
Very nteresting comments about the 'surprise' cost of cabs around the world!!!
yeah one should know which one to take, for tourists it can be fatal for their pocket, thanks for sharing that info.
interesting slogan. another yellow cab.. most often taxi colour.
it does look spacious inside. hate cramp up taxis.
Yes dear friend:
I really thank you have inspired to open your city daily photoblog when you saw mine. It's a honour and a great joy to know that. I was searching in internet and I saw a post of you in another of your blogs where you mentioned my photos, and link to this and you said this made you wish to open your city blog.
A big hug from Perú
It's nice to see smaller vehicles used as taxis. Perhaps better gas milage converts to lower taxi fares? I'm one who DOESn't like surprises of this kind!

I like the lighting ... looks like it's driving out of the dark into the light!
I thik the worst "surprise" is the different tipping cultures around the world!
I am old enough to remember here in Australia when the driver often rounded the price DOWN.
Big tips still aren't expected - you just round up if you feel like it. No tip is also fine.
