Western Railway Station

This is the Western Railway Station. Dont ask why they call it "western". It is located to the middle of the city and trains mostly goes to the Eastern part of the country from here.:)
It was opened in 1877 constructed by the same Eiffel company which built the Eiffel Tower in Paris.

The balloon says "Westend". We also have a section of town called the west end and it is in the middle of the city. Also, it is on the South End of Main Street. Until your post I have never concerned with this anonomoly. However, now I'm curious and will make an effort to find out why.

Westend is the name of the mall which maintains the balloon. Westend City Center is its full name.

I love this station, took a picture of the huge windows from the inside when I first visited Budapest in 2000. Very glad you have started this blog showing one of my favourite cities in the world!
